Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it First Nation extends our gratitude to all who joined us in Fernie on September 30th for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Walk. Together, we walked to honour our ancestors and their stories, to acknowledge the truths of our shared past, and to reaffirm our commitment to a path forward built on respect, understanding, and meaningful relationships.
Seeing our members, Elders, and youth walking alongside our neighbours was especially powerful—a reminder of the strength, resilience, and hope that guides us as we move forward together.
