The Reconciliation Department is committed to fostering meaningful relationships and advocating for the rights and title of ʔakanuxunik’ members. We are strengthening leadership-to-leadership relationships with key partners while advancing Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it’s goals to preserve and nurture ʔakanuxunik’ land, culture, language, and ceremony. These relationships allow us to effectively voice your concerns and interests in preserving ʔakanuxunik’ ʔamakʔis lands, while also creating the opportunity to insert ʔakanuxunik’ perspective into the proactive planning and reclamation processes of future developments in the Elk Valley.
