Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it is seeking dedicated community members to serve on the Community Consultative Group (CCG)
The CCG provides a forum for community members to work collaboratively with leadership and Indigenous policing services to identify public safety priorities, strengthen relationships, and support culturally informed approaches to community safety and well-being.
As a member of the Community Consultative Group, you will help:
- Provide community perspectives on policing and public safety priorities.
- Strengthen communication between the community, Chief and Council, and Indigenous police services.
- Support culturally grounded, community-led approaches to safety, prevention, and wellness.
- Promote trust, accountability, and positive relationships between the community and police.
- Help ensure policing services reflect the unique needs, values, and traditions of Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it
Who Can Apply?
We are seeking a minimum of four (4) community members to serve on the Committee.
Applicants must:
- Be a registered member of Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it First Nation.
- Have an interest in community safety, wellness, and Indigenous policing.
- Be willing to work collaboratively and respectfully with fellow members.
Commitment
- The Community Consultative Group will meet at least quarterly, with additional meetings scheduled as needed.
- Members will receive compensation for their time in accordance with Nation policy.
By joining the Community Consultative Group on Safety, you’ll play an important role in supporting a community driven approach to Indigenous policing. Your voice matters. We encourage all interested Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi’it members to submit an Expression of Interest and help shape the future of community safety.

Committee members will be appointed by Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡi‘it First Nation Council and will follow the Community Consultative Group Terms of Reference.
